Long time..no blog!

I have forgotten how crazy busy summer time is....but I love it!

 

It is so nice having my kids home!! I even have teenagers, and I still like them :)

We have had a awesome summer so far, We went on  a fun family Camping trip for 8 days, (thank goodness for trailers with showers and a potty)  I packed my family physician kit and lucky had no need to use anything,  no even the bug repellent... Hooray.

My sisters and sister in laws did RAGNAR once again this year.(192 mile,12 person relay race)

SO FUN!  with a huge difference.

Last year I was so sore, I had to fall in to my chair instead of sit and it was almost impossible to get out of it once I had fallen.  I avoided the stairs for a few days.. We won't even talk about getting down on the floor, didn't happen.

 This year,  I had deep blue........ My left calf was a little sore....THAT WAS IT!

My first leg was almost 8 miles, the last 2.5 are a good incline and when I was finished I was already super tight in my calves.  My quads were also a little sore.

I rubbed my legs down with deep blue...  my second leg I felt awesome.  Not sore at all!!

I seriously used it like lotion!! :)

Those that were super sore the following day, did not use deep blue like lotion..:)

needless to say, it is now my new best running buddy.

Although I learned during training NOT to rub deep blue on your knees, then strap on a knee brace that holds heat to keep your muscles warm...they start to get really warm by mile 2, fire by mile three and you end up wearing your fancy knee brace on your arm for rest of your run.

 I am going to go spend some days at the lake......ahhhhh, favorite time of the year.

Saturday open house

It is going to be a super exciting weekend!!

Our oldest son has a state playoff game, taking all the munchkins to the ZOO

and hosting a event in Layton.

doTERRA as a business

Summer has defiantly arrived at our house, along with the crazy busy schedules!!

I never thought the day would come that I was excited to have my teenagers driving, but

THE DAY HAS COME! :) 

With Football schedules, work, and play it is time to let my 15 year old spread his wings and DRIVE. He takes his drivers test today and with any luck with be legal the end of the month... cross your fingers :)

This weekend my sister made the long trip home for mothers day, so we took advantage of the

time on Saturday to do a doTERRA party for some friends.

 It was awesome!  It is always so fun to visit with friends,

but even better to see how you can help improve the health and lives of

not only them, but their friends and families!!

I had a few ladies ask me about how and why I decided to become a consultant for doTERRA, so here is my story for you as well.

My youngest has always slept really well, then about a year ago he became the naughtiest sleeper....ever!

Some nights we were up 6 times!! That makes for a tired and not so fun mom the next day.

I was talking to a friend of mine about it, she gave me a sample to lavender, she told me to

rub it on his feet at night, swearing it would help...

I am a skeptical person.  I only took it to make her happy,

I tried it that night and after 1 week I was a believer.

We went from 6 times a night to maybe 1 but 3-7 nights he slept all night.

I was interested in learning more, I had researched them on the Internet and decided to have her host a party.

Within my family we bought, past tense for headaches, deep blue for bad hip and knee pain,

 lavender for sleep, and the Vitamins.

After using the vitamins for a month I could see a huge difference in my energy level.  My hair, skin and nails were noticeably healthier. 

I would love to know what they are doing to the inside if the outside is better. :)

My sister in law has great results with the Past Tense for her chronic headaches.

Both of my parents had great relief with the deep blue with their joint pain.

Digest Zen

I know that some people use Digest Zen on a daily basis in place of  prilosec, or other heart burn medications.  Also people that suffer from IBS or other digestive issues.

Digest Zen was one of the oils that came in my physicians kit,  I have fortunately not had

a reason to try it until this last week.

 One of my pumpkins woke up at 2 o'clock in the morning with a tummy ache.

Psoriasis

I have a beautiful friend that suffers from  Psoriasis, she has dry, itchy red and scaly patch's on her arm, finger, and legs.

She has tried many steroids and creams with little to no success.

She was willing to try melaeluca and I am thrilled to announce...her patch's are almost gone!

For those that have severe psoriasis, I would recommend doing the GX assist with it.

doTERRA with Justin Harrison

WOW!!

What a great night!!

Justin is amazing, it was a lot of fun to listen to him, see friends and learn new great ways to use these awesome oils.

If you have your own expierence with doTERRA I would love to hear them.

I want to share a few of the new things I learned.

Breathe is one oil that is quickly becoming one of my favorites,  One of my children suffers from asthma, most of the time he is fine but his allergies have been bad this spring. 

He has been rubbing breathe on his chest, the coughing stops and he sleeps like a champ!

Last night I learned that you can put breathe in your humidifier, great for croupy little children.

The room was packed, which means, lots of great testimonials from people.

One lady said she has been on a c-pap for years,  She started using breathe at night, and It has helped her to quit using her c-pap!!! That is amazing ( if this is something that applies to you, I would recommend that you still have a sleep apnea test,  make sure your oxygen levels stay in a safe range while sleeping)

Another great one was digest zen, we all know you can you digest zen for anything digestion.  IBS, acid reflux ect.

Justin told a story of using digest zen for a sinus infection!

Simply rub it over the bridge of your nose, After looking at what oils are in the digest zen blend, it totally makes sense.

He also talk of deep blue.
 I get asked alot about the difference in the oil and the rub.

He said the rub has a longer, over all lasting effect.  The oil is more for a immediate relief but does not last quite as long as the rub.

For the ultimate relief for severe pain(rheumatoid arthritis) use both.

Another great product he mentioned for arthritis was Frankincense, A sweet little lady told of her arthritis and how debilitating it is.  She rubs Frankincense on her hands and has had immense relief.

Also a story of a member on her team, she has Ulnar Tunnel, she rubs frankincense on her wrist and the problem has repaired itself.

The last one I am going to mention is my favorite doTERRA product.

In my own experience I have seen a huge difference in my energy level, as well as my hair, my nails, skin.

I have also noticed that I no longer have hip pain.  I would have to take 800 ibuprofen everyday after going to the gym to stop the pain in my hip.

A whiff of rosemary gives your brain a boost

Could the smell of rosemary enhance your time on a crossword puzzle? It's possible, according to a new study.

Researchers noted the surprising appearance of a component of rosemary oil in the bloodstream, leading to new ideas about how rosemary aroma can be used therapeutically. The results will be published in Therapeutic Advances in Psychopharmacology, a journal published by SAGE Publications.

Rosemary has a long history as a traditional remedy with such widespread uses as a hair rinse and a cat repellent. When steamed, some say it can treat bronchitis and other forms of congestion, while the link between rosemary and improved cognitive function has long been established.

Dr. Mark Moss, who devised and wrote the study, was interested in rosemary’s fragrant aroma, which has long been cherished by chefs and bakers. Could the 1,8-cineole, a constituent part of rosemary oil, be detected in the bloodstream after exposure to just the aroma?

“We were not surprised by the improvement in cognitive performance following exposure to rosemary aroma as this has been demonstrated previously,” Moss wrote in an e-mail. “What excited us was the demonstration that performance was linked to plasma levels of 1,8-cineole following exposure.” 

In the study, a cohort of 20 subjects were exposed to varying levels of the aroma, then given a battery of cognitive tests and mood assessments. Not surprisingly, the cognitive performance of the subjects increased, with a corresponding mood increase of lesser magnitude. However, the real surprise came when the blood tests were processed.

The results showed absorption of 1,8-coneole into the bloodstream, meaning the natural compound was absorbed through the nose and into the blood plasma. For Moss, this means there is a more traditional biochemical explanation for the increased cognitive performances previously demonstrated.

“This compound is present in rosemary but has not previously been demonstrated to be absorbed into blood plasma in humans,” Moss added. “It is our view that the aroma therefore acts like a therapeutic drug, rather than any effects being a result of the more sensory properties of the aroma.”

Moss reminds that it’s easy to forget how many of our therapeutic drugs are the result of plant science. His team will continue to investigate the therapeutic benefits of several common plants, including peppermint and lavender. An upcoming study with rosemary will aim to determine whether 1,8-cineole, when ingested orally, can survive the rigors of the gastrointestinal system to be similarly absorbed into the bloodstream. 

The potential benefits of the research are extremely wide-ranging.

“Plants are very complex organisms and contain many different active compounds and these vary in concentration from plant to plant and even within the same plant over the course of a day,” Moss notes.  “The accumulation of knowledge regarding possible impacts of plant aromas and extracts could potentially lead to an identification of the best combination to promote specific effects.” 

“At its grandest conclusion might be the development of plant-based drugs that might extend mental capacity into old age through pharmacological challenge to decline,” Moss concludes. 

GX Assist

Today is my last day of the 10 day GX assist.

I have had this weird thing on my leg for about 1 year, It showed up when

I started running again.  I was not sure if

it was a clogged pour, a boil a ingrown hair??  I tried many different thing, it would

decrease in size until my next long run, then

I decided to try it instead.  After the 10 day treatment it is almost gone.   I am going to do the  5 days of probiotic then do another 10 day round of Gx assist, just for good measure.

Slim and Sassy

 Another quick update,  I meet with cute "P" this weekend.  She has lost another 3 lbs, bringing her current weight loss to 20 lbs in 5 1/2 weeks!!!! She is doing amazing!
  Another fun weight loss story is" L"..  I saw her on Monday looking slim and healthy, she has lost 15 lbs in 5 weeks.  She is going to order the protein shakes, I am excited to hear how she likes them. 
 "C" has also lost 11 lbs, her was in just 3 weeks.
  All these sweet ladies have started adding at least 3 days of exercises to the program with great success.
 I have had my family start telling me they have noticed I am loosing weight!! HOORAY,  I am still doing 8 drops 5 times a day, exercising 6 days a week and eating healthier, nice when all the hard work starts paying off.'

UPDATE:
I had a email about how much to order.  I order 4 tubes per month, I do 8 drops five times a day.  I put 8 drops in about 2TBS of cold water, chug it down then follow up with a glass of water.  I have not tried the slim shakes but for those of you that do not mind protein shakes you would do just fine. :)

There is countless research that prove that Oregano is a potent bacterial and virus killer. I challenge you to research this for yourself. I have been using Oregano for several years and I can without a doubt tell you that it works. The following is a summary of the health benefits for oregano.

As most of us know, an antibiotic prescription given at the doctor's office is useless against viral infections which is what causes colds and the flu. The flu virus mutates constantly. Although labs cook up an antiviral cocktail containing several previous flu viruses, chances are slim that those same viruses will attack again and thus your body will not have resistance to new ones lurking around the corner.

In addition to that, the vaccine may be contaminated with toxic mercury or aluminum, which is added as a preservative. The stress caused by the actual shooting of this polluted concoction directly into the bloodstream can greatly hamper your immune system. Daily doses (three drops three times a day) will help keep your immune system strong enough to fight off most cold and flu viruses. Antibiotics kill some of the good flora in the intestinal tract. This allows the candida to multiply unchecked. Candida feeds on sugar and refined grains. With the North American diet being high in both of these, candida quickly multiplies and ends up in the bloodstream. Nail fungus, thrush, skin disorders, vaginal yeast, allergies and chronic fatigue are only a few of the annoying symptoms caused by candida infection. Oregano oil is also effective to treat fungal infections.

Oregano oil is a powerful antiparasitic. In studies done in Mexico it was shown to be effective against giardia, a water borne parasite that our Ontario readers may be familiar with. Pinworms and other nasty creatures that often inhabit our intestines are subject to termination by oregano oil.

Travel in public carriers can be hazardous to your health even if no terrorists are aboard. The closed environment and recirculated air give a good guarantee that breathing the effluvia under such conditions will result in a vacation flu, just what you don't want. So carry your oregano oil with you on the plane, train or bus. When you arrive in those warmer climates you can avoid food poisoning and Monteczuma's revenge by taking a few drops before or after meals and by adding a drop or two to the water.

Teeth and gums benefit greatly from oral application of oregano oil since it destroys the bacteria that form plaque and cause gum disease. You may put a drop or two under the tongue and then swish it around in your mouth before swallowing or put a drop on your toothbrush when you clean your teeth.

Inflammation is a component of not only of many infections but also diseases, especially those involving joints and tendons. An article published in Phytotherapy Research describes how Oregano oil superseded anti-inflammatory drugs in reversing pain and inflammation and is nearly as powerful as morphine as a pain killer. It has the ability to penetrate the skin and reach as far as the sinovial fluid in joints. It may help to alleviate arthritis, carpal tunnel, sports injuries and even backache. Rub the oil on the skin to cover the affected area in addition to taking it internally.

Do not confuse the medicinal wild Mediterranean oregano for what is sometimes called oregano in the marketplace. What you find on the grocery store shelf is usually Spanish marjoram and does not share the true wild oregano's therapeutic qualities. The best therapeutic oregano grows wild in the Mediterranean and has been known since Hippocrate's time to be a powerful medicinal plant.

Olive oil is used to dilute pure oregano oil because, in its pure form, the oil is far too caustic. This is primarily due to the predominant phenol carvacrol, which accounts for a large percentage of the composition of oregano oil. Please beware of taking the pure essential oil as it could harm you. It must be properly diluted to be effective and safe. Tests show that most people respond best to one part oregano to four parts olive oil. Extra strength products are not more effective. They are difficult for the body to assimilate and are extremely unpalatable as well as being potentially hazardous.

Recently, the FDA has started to allow vendors of olive oil to make qualified statements concerning its health benefits. However, these benefits only occur when at least two tablespoons of oil are taken a day. Whether the edible oil is olive, flax seed, coconut, palm or hemp seed oil, the same intake level of two tablespoons daily is required to produce results.

As an average dose of oregano oil is about nine drops (or one third of a milliliter) per a day, do not expect to derive any benefit from the edible oil that it is mixed with. Do ensure that the edible oil is fresh and certified organic to remove the possibility of rancidity or pesticide contamination. If you have a health challenge, you certainly don't need further assault from chemical contamination.

Breathe

The other day I met a sweet lady that was hoping to find something to help her husband.

He had pneumonia a few months ago but ever since he feels like he is having a asthma attack.

Weekend and Slim and Sassy!!

First of all, I want to thank all of you cute girls that partied with us this weekend!!

It was a fun time!

Second I wanted to tell  you all about some exciting slim and sassy updates...

We had a sweet lady come to our event on February 3rd, She was very interested in losing some weight.  She had been trying on her own by watching what she ate and exercising 2-3 times a week with only losing 2 lbs on her own..... after adding slim and sassy to her routine she has lost 17 POUNDS in just 5 weeks!!!

How phenomenal is that!  WAY to go P

I also had a lady ask me about slim and sassy and how it can help maintain blood sugar, she is hypoglycemic.

  She ordered some, has been taking it for just 10 days and on Saturday she texted me saying she had just run 8 miles.  She felt better during her run and even had energy when she was done...

Earache

1:03 am,  my sweet little man woke up crying about his ear.

This is new for us,  None of my kids have ever had ear ache/ infections.

I grabbed my modern essentials book, looked up earache and found the appropriate oil,  One was Melaleuca, hallelujah, I had some.

  I rubbed a drop behind his ear and put a drop ON a cotton ball and placed the cotton ball in his ear.

Gave him a dose of Tylenol and at 1:09 he was snuggled back down in his bed, even better, NO more tears!!  It breaks my heart to watch my kids hurts and feel like I am helpless. 

I was amazed at how fast it worked, 

I had planned on running him to instacare first thing this morning, but he woke up happy as can be.  No ear pain at all.

Everyday I have a experience that renews my Love for these oils!!
